Beach Minstrel IMG_5256.jpg

Modern day minstrel, 18-year-old Hudson McCarty of Arizona, spent Labor Day perched on a rock in a Pescadero State Beach parking lot south of Half Moon Bay, strumming his guitar and playing his harmonica, hoping to fill his open guitar case with change and perhaps a few bills. According to Mr. McCarty, after five days of looking he's been unable to find a job in Half Moon Bay and needs gas money. "Yesterday," he said, "I didn't make anything. But today. . ." he peered into the velvet-lined guitar case and the change inside, "Today I made 43-cents." ."The cold weather, " he added, "makes playing really hard." San Leandro Times 9-7-2006
