Bird Rescue on San Francisco Bay (6 images)
An unidentified substance has been coating, and in many cases killing, birds along the eastern shores of San Francisco Bay. On the afternoon of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one of several rescue teams was at work looking for affected birds along the Hayward Regional Shoreline in San Lorenzo, California.
