Darlingtonia californica - Cobra Lily (3 galleries)
A gaggle of geese, a herd of elephants - collective nouns describe groups, like a murder of crows. Or a quiver of cobras.
When you see a large group, or collection, of Darlingtonia californica plants it's easy to imagine you're looking at a quiver of cobras - venomous snakes ready to strike. And it is just as easy to see how they got their other moniker, Cobra lilies.
